Potentiometric titration was used. The instrument is suitable for the determination of mercaptan sulfur in jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene and light diesel without hydrogen sulfide. The determination of mercaptan sulfur is of great significance in evaluating the odor of jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene and light diesel, the adverse effects on rubber parts of fuel system and the corrosion of fuel system.
