VOK®-AP 513 high-density polyethylene wax emulsion, VOC-free; Improve surface protection of waterborne coatings, printing inks, waterborne curing products and polishes.

Chemical composition 

Wax emulsion of non-ionic oxidation of high-density polyethylene.

Storage and transportation 

The product is temperature sensitive and must be stored and transported between 5 °C and 35 °C. Stir well before use. Application areas Coatings and printing inks 

Features and benefits 

The additive improves the scratch resistance of waterborne coatings, increases the abrasion resistance of printing inks and the heel scratch resistance of wood floor coatings.

Recommended dosage 

1-6% additive dosage (purchased form) based on total coating formulation. 

3-14% additive dosage (purchased form) based on total printing ink formulation. 

The above recommended addition amount is for reference, and the suitable addition amount needs to be determined by a series of tests. 

Incorporation method and processing guidance 

Auxiliaries should be added later in the production process and stirred continuously at a slow speed. Mix the product well before use. 

Curing products and polishes 

Features and benefits 

VOK®-AP 513 is miscible in common polymer dispersions, resin solutions, plasticizers, film-forming additives and surfactants. The wax emulsion exhibits good polishability and non-stick dust. 

The above properties are obtained by VOK-AP® 513 and polymer at a 3:1 (solid-to-solid) basis. Press 1:6 mixing to increase water resistance, alcohol resistance and friction resistance tests, preventing heel marks. 

Recommended use 

AQUACER513 is recommended for all self-gloss flooring care products, such as hardened flooring such as stone, granite, marble, and soft flooring such as wood, PVC, linoleum and rubber.

Recommended dosage 

5-10% additive (purchased form) based on total formulation dosage. The above recommended addition amount is for reference, and the suitable addition amount needs to be determined by a series of tests. 

Incorporation method and processing guidance 

The wax additive should be added under continuous agitation after the polymer, plasticizer and water are mixed well. However, it must be mixed in before the surfactant is used.
