The automatic Y‑type brush‑type filter is upgraded and developed on the basis of our hand‑operated brush filter. Its internal brush assembly adopts bone‑made bristle brushes or stainless‑steel brushes. Compared with nylon brushes, bristle brushes feature higher tensile strength, superior high‑temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and ageing resistance. The whole brush set consists of the cleaning brush and multiple stainless‑steel accessories.The brush assembly runs through the filter cover and is arranged inside the stainless‑steel filter screen. An external drive motor fitted on the cover drives the brush to rotate. The motor starts on a timed cycle to scrape contaminants off the screen and discharge waste via the drain outlet. Pipeline water flow remains uninterrupted during cleaning. No equipment shutdown or screen disassembly is required. The housing is made of premium carbon‑steel material.
The Y‑shaped brush self‑cleaning filter applies to wastewater disposal, steel‑plant slag‑flushing water, power‑plant process and cooling‑water, papermaking inlet‑water treatment, chemical production pipelines and irrigation systems. It traps hard‑solid particles ranging from 80‑3500 μm and guarantees safe and steady operation for pipeline‑systems.
Working‑cycle Steps
Filtration StageWater flows into the Y‑shaped housing from the inlet. When passing through the wedge‑shaped screen, solid contaminants are retained on the inner screen wall and purified water flows out of the outlet.
Self‑cleaning TriggerOnce the pressure‑difference across the filter screen hits the preset value (0.04‑0.06 MPa) or the scheduled cleaning cycle ends, the electric‑control cabinet activates the automatic‑cleaning program.
Cleaning and Sewage Discharge StageThe external motor spins the built‑in cleaning brush to scrub off screen deposits. Meanwhile the blow‑down valve opens, and waste particles are flushed out through the drain port.
Filter ResetUpon cleaning completion, the motor halts and the drain valve closes. The filter automatically returns to normal‑filtration mode without cutting‑off pipeline water flow.
