1. Product Overview

Angle steel, also called angle iron, is L-shaped 90° long section steel, divided into hot rolled equal angle steel, hot rolled unequal angle steel and cold formed thin-wall angle steel. It is hot rolled or cold bent from carbon steel and low alloy billets, with standard inner arc transition, precise right angle and stable cross-section, featuring excellent performance for welding, punching, bending and bolt assembly.Compliant with Chinese standards: GB/T 706-2016 Hot Rolled Section Steel, GB/T 6723 Cold Formed Section Steel. We can produce to international standards including ASTM A36/A572 Gr50, EN S235JR/S355JR, JIS G3192, DIN for global export. Material grades cover carbon structural steel, high strength low alloy steel, medium carbon quality steel and alloy structural steel, stainless steel excluded.

2.1 General Low Carbon Angle Steel (General Engineering Main Material)

Grades: Q195, Q235B, SS400, S235JR, A36Features: Good ductility, easy welding, cost-effective, widely used for general brackets, workshop trusses, PV supports, auxiliary tower parts and embedded components

2.2 High Strength Low Alloy Angle Steel (Heavy Load & Low Temperature Projects)

Grades: Q355B/C/D, S355JR, A572 Gr50, Q460Features: High yield strength, superior low-temperature impact toughness, strong load capacity, for bridges, transmission towers, heavy steel structures, cold storage and severe cold region projects

2.3 Medium Carbon Structural Angle Steel (Machining Parts)

Grades: 20#, 35#, 45#, S45C, 1045Features: Balanced strength, available for quenching & tempering heat treatment, for machinery bases, fixtures, flange blanks and transmission supports

2.4 Alloy Structural Angle Steel (Wear-Resistant Heavy-Duty Components)

Grades: 40Cr, 65Mn, 60Si2MnFeatures: Good hardenability, anti-fatigue and wear resistance, specially for construction machinery wear supports, spring fixing frames and heavy-duty tooling fixtures

Processing performance: 180° cold bending without crack; compatible with manual arc welding, CO2 shield welding, punching, cutting and bolt connection.

7. Production Process

Hot Rolled Angle Steel

Billet heating → Continuous high-temperature forming rolling → Inner arc shaping → Straightening & leveling → Fixed-length cutting → Surface cleaning → Sampling test for dimension & mechanical property → Bundling & warehousing

Cold Formed Thin-Wall Angle Steel

Hot rolled steel strip → Pickling & phosphating → Continuous cold bending at ambient temperature → Fixed-length cutting → Polishing / galvanizing → Inspection & warehousing

8. Export Standard Packing, Storage & Transportation

8.1 Bundling Standard

All straight bars fastened with Φ7 galvanized steel strips: 4 strips for bars under 9m, 6 strips for standard 12m, 8–9 strips for extra-long profiles, tight bundles without scattering. Metal tag attached to each bundle with bilingual grade, size, heat number, weight & applicable standard; waterproof PVC label supplied for export. Extra anti-rust oil spraying and full PE film wrapping available to resist salt fog during ocean shipment.

8.2 Storage Rules

Stack on raised supports in dry & ventilated yard, keep galvanized angle steel away from long-term rain and water accumulation; separate storage by grade, size and length to avoid batch mixing.

8.3 Transportation

Domestic: Full truck load & railway wagon; Export: 20GP/40GP container & bulk carrier shipping, single vessel loading capacity 5,000–20,000 MT

  1. Lead Time: 3–5 working days for spot goods; 7–12 working days for customized hot-dipped galvanized, cold formed bright, medium carbon & alloy grades
