1. Product Overview
Boiler steel plate, officially named special steel plate for boilers and pressure vessels, is a high-grade special steel exclusively used for manufacturing industrial boilers, power station boilers, heat exchangers, and high-temperature & high-pressure pressure-bearing tanks. It belongs to special equipment steel supervised by national safety regulations.
Different from ordinary medium and thick steel plates, boiler plates are manufactured with higher production standards and stricter internal control. They feature high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, creep resistance, and excellent weldability.
Boilers work under severe conditions including continuous high temperature, high pressure, steam-water alternation, thermal expansion and contraction, and long-term static load. Such working environments demand extremely high steel purity, structural stability, high-temperature strength, and toughness.
Adopting fully deoxidized and refined smelting technology, boiler steel plates feature ultra-low impurities, uniform grain structure and low internal stress. They can sustain long-term cyclic high-temperature and high-pressure loads without bulging, deformation, cracking or leakage, serving as the core safety material for boiler manufacturing, thermal equipment and energy chemical industries.

3.1 General Carbon Boiler Plate
Q245RThe most widely used basic boiler steel plate with excellent toughness, high plasticity and superior weldability. It is not prone to cold brittleness. Suitable for medium & low-temperature and medium & low-pressure boiler cylinders, furnace liners, tube sheets, heat exchangers and general pressure-bearing equipment with high cost performance and stable performance.
3.2 High-Strength Low-Alloy Boiler Plate
Q345RHigh-strength dedicated boiler steel with higher yield strength, tensile strength and impact resistance than Q245R. It features stronger high-temperature resistance and pressure resistance, widely applied in medium & high-pressure industrial boilers, power station auxiliary equipment, large heat exchange tanks and high-pressure steam equipment, serving as the mainstream material for large-scale boiler projects.
3.3 High-Temperature Heat-Resistant Boiler Plate
15CrMoR, 12Cr1MoVRPearlitic heat-resistant steel with outstanding high-temperature creep resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance and long-term durability. Suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure power station boilers, superheaters, high-temperature reactors and core thermal power pressure-bearing equipment.

5. Delivery Status & Heat Treatment
As Rolled (AR): Conventional thin plates under 20mm with uniform structure and stable performance.
TMCP Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing: Refines grain structure for higher strength and toughness for medium and thick plates.
Normalized (N): Mandatory normalization for plates over 40mm and high-pressure boiler plates to eliminate rolling stress, unify metallographic structure and prevent deformation & cracking under high-temperature operation.
Normalized + Tempered: Applied for heat-resistant alloy plates and ultra-thick high-pressure plates to improve high-temperature lasting strength and creep resistance.
All boiler plates are strictly prohibited from mixed rolling or secondary rolling, ensuring traceable and qualified mechanical properties.
6. Production Process & Quality Control
Manufactured by electric furnace smelting + LF refining + vacuum degassing technology to strictly control sulfur, phosphorus and other harmful impurities. The steel features high purity without porosity, inclusion or delamination.
Precision temperature-controlled rolling and graded cooling refine grain structure, achieving perfect balance of high strength, high toughness, high plasticity and excellent weldability, effectively avoiding thermal fatigue failure and creep deformation under long-term high-temperature service.
Full-process quality inspection includes batch tensile testing, impact testing, hardness testing and ultrasonic flaw detection, ensuring far more stable performance consistency than ordinary steel plates.
