1. Product Overview

H section steel (H-beam) features H-shaped cross-section integrally hot rolled with parallel equal-thickness flanges and vertical web. Different from ordinary I-beam, its flat flanges deliver uniform stress distribution, strong bending rigidity and lighter self-weight. It is divided into hot rolled H beam and welded H beam.Compliant with Chinese standard GB/T 11263-2024 Hot Rolled H Section Steel & Split T Section Steel. We can produce to international standards including ASTM A36/A572 Gr50, EN S235JR/S355JR, JIS G3192, DIN for global export.Material grades cover low carbon carbon steel, high strength low alloy steel, medium carbon quality structural steel and alloy structural steel, stainless steel excluded.

Four Classification Codes of H Section Steel

  1. HW Wide Flange H Beam: Flange width close to section height, ultra-high lateral stiffness, mainly for load-bearing columns

  2. HM Medium Flange H Beam: Universal for beams & columns, mainstream profile for workshops and multi-story frames

  3. HN Narrow Flange H Beam: Narrow flanges with strong vertical bending resistance, used as main & secondary floor beams

2.3 Medium Carbon Structural H Beam (Heavy Machinery Base & Machining Parts)

Grades: 20#, 35#, 45#, S45C, 1045Features: Balanced strength, available for quenching & tempering heat treatment, for large machine bases, heavy equipment supports and flange blanks

2.4 Alloy Structural H Beam (Wear-Resistant Heavy Construction Machinery)

  1. Hot Rolled Black Surface H Beam: Original mill scale without coating, primary material for steel structure main body, secondary painting & hot galvanizing substrate

Hot Rolled H Beam

Billet high-temperature heating → Continuous forming rolling via universal mill → Precise thickness control for web & flange → Hot straightening to eliminate bending & torsion → Fixed-length saw cutting → Surface cleaning → Sampling test for dimension & mechanical property → Bundling & warehousing

Welded H Beam

Steel plate blanking cutting → Web & flange assembly + submerged arc automatic welding → Weld seam flaw detection → Deformation correction → Shot blasting rust removal → Anti-corrosion treatment → Cutting & inspection for storage

8. Export Standard Packing, Storage & Transportation

8.1 Bundling Standard

All straight bars fastened with multiple heavy-duty galvanized steel strips: 4 strips for short lengths, 6 strips for standard 12m, 8–9 strips for extra-long profiles, tight bundles to prevent sliding. Metal tag attached to each bundle with bilingual grade, size, heat number, weight & applicable standard; waterproof PVC label supplied for export. Full PE film wrapping & anti-rust oil spraying available for large profiles to resist salt fog & moisture during ocean shipment.

8.2 Storage Rules

Stack on raised ventilated yard with steel sleeper isolation from ground; keep galvanized H beam away from long-term rain & water accumulation; separate storage by grade, model and length to avoid batch mixing.

8.3 Transportation

Domestic: Full truck load & railway wagon; Export: 20GP/40GP container & bulk carrier shipping, single vessel loading capacity 5,000–25,000 MT

9. Lead Time, Factory Inspection & Export Documents

  1. Lead Time: 3–5 working days for spot goods; 7–15 working days for customized hot-dipped galvanized, non-standard welded, medium carbon & alloy grades

  2. Factory Inspection: Sampling test of cross-section dimension, straightness, tensile, cold bend, impact, weld flaw detection (for welded H beam) and zinc coating thickness for each batch; unqualified goods forbidden to deliver
