2. Working Principle
A Turnkey Mining Thickener System is a complete, self-contained solid-liquid separation plant. It is engineered to process low-density mining slurries and tailings into a clear water overflow and a concentrated, high-density underflow.
Key Integrated Components:
High-Rate Thickener Unit: A heavy-duty tank equipped with a high-torque central drive, automated rake lift mechanism, and a high-efficiency feedwell.
Automated Chemical Dosing Skid: A fully integrated system that automatically mixes, matures, and doses polymer flocculants into the slurry feed.
Pumping & Piping Module: Heavy-duty feed pumps, underflow slurry discharge pumps, and overflow water recycling pumps integrated with specialized valving.
Plug-and-Play Smart Controls: A pre-wired electrical panel with a PLC/HMI touchscreen interface, using bed-level and torque sensors for automated, autonomous operation.
3. Industrial Line Advantages
The turnkey system operates via a continuous, automated process of chemical conditioning and gravity sedimentation:
Intake and Conditioning: Low-density slurry from the mill is pumped into the thickener's feedwell, where an automated system injects a precisely measured dose of liquid flocculant.
Flocculation: Inside the feedwell, the polymer flocculants bind the fine, suspended mineral particles together, rapidly forming heavy particle clusters called "flocs."
Settling and Compaction: These heavy flocs quickly sink to the bottom of the tank by gravity, creating a dense mud bed. Slowly rotating rake arms gently channel through the bed, squeezing out trapped water and guiding the compacted sludge toward the center discharge cone.
Simultaneous Discharge: Clear, clarified water overflows from the top weir of the tank and is directly routed back into the mine's water circuit. Concurrently, smart sensors trigger the underflow pumps to discharge the highly concentrated mud for disposal or further filtration.
