3.Working Principle
The working principle of the jaw crusher is based on the periodic reciprocating squeezing motion between the movable jaw and the fixed jaw. The motor drives the eccentric shaft to rotate via the pulley, thereby moving the movable jaw plate. When the movable jaw approaches the fixed jaw, material between the jaw plates is crushed through a combination of compression, splitting, and bending forces. As the movable jaw retracts, the crushed material discharges through the outlet under gravity. Based on the movable jaw's motion trajectory, these crushers are primarily categorized into simple swing and complex swing types. The complex swing jaw crusher applies crushing force to the material for most of the eccentric shaft's rotation. Its upper jaw movement trajectory approximates a circle, the middle section follows an elliptical path, and the lower section traces an arc. This design typically yields about 30% higher production capacity than simple swing jaw crushers of the same specification. However, the larger vertical stroke may also lead to increased jaw plate wear and excessive crushing of the product.
