TIPA, full name Triisopropanolamine, is a high-end multi-functional alkanolamine auxiliary, available in two mainstream grades: 85% liquid TIPA and 98% high-purity TIPA. TIPA acts as core raw material for cement grinding aid and strength enhancer in building material industry. With hydroxyl and tertiary amine structure, TIPA owns outstanding water solubility and can be miscible with water and alcohol solvents in any proportion. Chloride-free TIPA avoids steel bar corrosion completely. Product Overview

Triisopropanolamine (TIPA), CAS No.122-20-3, molecular formula C₉H₂₁NO₃, is colorless to pale yellow transparent viscous liquid at room temperature with faint ammonia odor, classified as tertiary amine trihydroxy alkanolamine compound. TIPA is synthesized and refined via catalytic reaction of propylene oxide and ammonia. 85% industrial grade TIPA is mainly used for cement output improvement and late strength activation, while 98% high-purity TIPA fits fine chemical industry, daily chemical emulsification and pH neutralization. Application Method

  1. Standard dosage controlCement grinding: TIPA dosage accounts for 0.02%–0.1% of clinker weight; concrete compound reinforcement: 0.015%–0.08% of cementitious material weight; fine chemical emulsification & neutralization: adjust dosage according to target pH value. 85% industrial TIPA for bulk cement production, 98% high-purity TIPA for premium fine chemical formulas.

  2. Feeding and mixing operationLiquid TIPA can be directly pumped into mill feeding port, or diluted with water before adding into concrete mixing system. When compounding with PCE mother liquor, drop TIPA slowly under low-speed stirring for full mixing to maximize synergistic effect.

  3. Pre-production trial testConduct formula trial before mass production due to differences in cement type, clinker quality, ambient temperature and mineral admixture ratio, confirm optimal TIPA dosage to avoid excessive retardation or bleeding caused by overdosing.

  4. Storage and transportation requirementStore sealed TIPA in cool and ventilated plastic drums or stainless steel tanks, keep away from high temperature, open flame and strong oxidant to prevent volatilization and discoloration. PE and stainless steel containers are recommended to resist corrosion. Use up quickly after opening, shelf life reaches 12 months under intact sealing condition.
