Supply Spi94001 Static Eliminator Imported From the United States
Product Model:
94000 (120VAC Input Power Supply)
94001 (220VAC Input Power Supply)
Brand: SPI (Sub - brand of DESCO)
Origin: USA
According to the provisions of 6.2.3.1 in ANSI/ESD S20.20, when static electricity is generated on insulating objects or isolated conductors, ionization technology should be used to generate positive and negative ions to neutralize the static electricity. The ionization neutralization technology is ineffective for objects with large capacitance, such as the human body. However, when grounding cannot be achieved, the ionization neutralization technology should be adopted.
According to the provisions in IEC61340 - 5 - 2:1, for conductive objects and the human body, the ionization neutralization method should not be the first choice.
I. Product Description:
The Counter SPI uses the pulsed DC corona method to generate a large number of positive and negative ions, which can effectively eliminate static electricity in the working area. The product is divided into the following two models:
1. 94000 (120VAC Input Power Supply)
2. 94001 (220VAC Input Power Supply)
Product principle of the Counter SPI static eliminator (illustration)
The pulsed DC high - voltage generator raises the 120 or 220VAC input voltage and outputs positive and negative voltages in a turbulent flow with a cycle of 0.2 - 1 second to act on the discharge electrode, ionizing the air to alternately generate positive and negative ions. When an object carries a positive static charge, negative ions will neutralize it; conversely, if an object carries a negative static charge, positive ions will neutralize it.
Since the switching cycle of the pulsed DC positive and negative ion output is 10 - 50 times longer than that of the static eliminator with power - frequency AC corona discharge, there will be no self - neutralization of positive and negative ions. In addition, there is no need to ground to lose positive and negative ions. According to the distance of the object to be static - eliminated, the switching cycle of positive and negative ions can be adjusted. For a longer distance, a longer switching cycle should be selected; for a shorter distance, a shorter switching cycle should be selected. The Counter SPI can transport positive and negative ions to a very long distance without the assistance of a fan, which is suitable for special process requirements, such as use in a windless environment.
II. Product Use
Device Placement:
1) Place the Counter SPI on a horizontal desktop, facing the object to be destaticized.
2) Connect the power cord to a 120/220VAC power supply.
3) Press the power button on the back of the device to turn it on.
Note:
1) Do not place any items between the Counter SPI and the object to be destaticized to avoid blocking positive and negative air ions.
2) The optimal effective range of the factory setting is 12 inches (305 mm).
3) Ensure that there are no items generating static electricity in the work area.
4) The work area should use grounding devices and items that comply with electrostatic control specifications.
5) Prevent the device from falling forward during operation, as the ion emission electrode is easily broken.
6) The ion emission electrode has a high voltage. Although the current is very low, you will feel an electric shock if you touch the emission electrode. Avoid touching the emission electrode during use.
After turning on the device, the power indicator light on the front of the device lights up, indicating that the power is connected. At this time, the positive and negative ion indicator lights flash alternately, and the alternating frequency is the switching frequency of the positive and negative ion output.
1) Color of the positive ion indicator light: Red
2) Color of the negative ion indicator light: Blue
There are two adjustment holes on the left and right sides of the front of the device. You can insert a small screwdriver into the holes and rotate it left or right for adjustment:
1) Ion balance adjustment hole (BALANCE): Adjust the balance of positive and negative ions. Rotate clockwise to increase the output of positive ions; rotate counter - clockwise to increase the output of negative ions. Use a charging plate monitor to regularly check the ion balance. If the ion balance exceeds the standard, adjustment is required (the smaller the difference between positive and negative ions, the better).
2) Positive and negative ion output frequency adjustment hole (RATE): Adjust the switching frequency of the positive and negative ion output. The adjustable range of the positive and negative ion output switching frequency is from once per second to five times per second (switching interval from 0.2 seconds to 1 second). Rotate clockwise to increase the switching frequency; rotate counter - clockwise to decrease the switching frequency. When the destaticizing distance is far, use a lower switching frequency; when the distance is close, use a higher switching frequency.
