Eddy Current Displacement Sensor
Introduction to the RZ-CG Series Eddy Current Sensors
The RZ-CG series eddy current sensor is a non-contact measurement sensor that can accurately measure the relative position between the object being measured (which must be a metal conductor) and the probe end face. The voltage signal output by the sensor is proportional to the distance between the probe end and the measured conductor. It can perform both static (displacement) and dynamic (vibration) measurements. It is mainly used for measuring parameters such as shaft displacement, shaft vibration, and shaft speed of rotating machinery, effectively monitoring and protecting equipment.
█ Sensor Composition
The eddy current sensor consists of three parts: the probe, extension cable, and preamplifier.
Probe
The probe is composed of a coil, protective cover, stainless steel housing, coaxial cable, and high-frequency connector. Different probe diameter specifications can be chosen according to the measurement range, such as Φ5mm, Φ8mm, Φ11mm, Φ18mm, and Φ25mm. According to different installation requirements, various mounting methods can be selected, such as front mounting, reverse mounting, or threadless. Depending on the installation situation, the length of the probe cable can be chosen, for example, probe cable lengths of 1m or 0.5m.
Extension Cable
Both ends of the extension cable are equipped with SMA locking connectors. The connection between the locking connector and the cable is fitted with oil-resistant heat-shrink tubing to protect the connection from oil contamination, thereby improving system reliability. The extension cable length can be 4m, 4.5m, 8m, or 8.5m.
Note: The required total length of probe cable and extension cable should be 5 meters or 9 meters.
Preamplifier
The preamplifier is the core part of the system, including circuits for oscillation, linear demodulation, filtering, linear compensation, and amplification. According to the diameter of the matched probe, RZ-CG preamplifiers are divided into five specifications: Φ5mm, Φ8mm, Φ11mm, Φ18mm, and Φ25mm. Each specification is further divided into 5m and 9m systems based on the total system cable length (probe cable length plus extension cable length).
