Wireless Certification in Singapore: IMDA Certification

The Singapore IMDA (Info-Communications Media Development Authority) is the official regulatory body for wireless telecommunications products. All wireless telecommunications products sold or used in Singapore must obtain IMDA certification.

IMDA Certification Changes

In October 2016, the former Info-Communications Development Authority (IDA) and Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore were reorganized into the Info-Communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Government Technology Agency (Govtech).

Certificates issued before October 2016 do not need to be renewed and remain valid until their expiration date. Certificates applied for after October 2016 must be applied for according to the new IMDA regulations, and the label must also meet the new requirements. The label must include the applicant's registration number.

IMDA Certification Process

1. Client submits application form and relevant test reports and technical documents;

2. NTEK pre-screening;

3. Submits official IMDA application;

4. Issuance of certificate.

9. NB Certificate (Tablet/Notebook/Mobilephone, etc., for products with 2G, 3G, 4G functionality)

10. Manufacturer's Module Declaration Letter (If the product contains embedded modules, the module name and model number must be declared).
