Material preparation: Liquid mold silicone rubber is usually two-component, with Component A being silicone and Component B being the curing agent. Mix the two in the proportion specified in the product instructions. For instance, some products mix components A and B in a 1:1 ratio.
Mixing and stirring: Thoroughly stir the two components A and B evenly to ensure that the performance of the mixed silica gel is consistent. If the stirring is not uniform, it may lead to partial curing or incomplete curing of the mold.
Exhaust treatment: The mixed silicone needs to undergo vacuum exhaust treatment to remove air bubbles, which can prevent the formation of air bubbles in the mold and affect the quality of the molded products. The vacuuming time should not be too long, generally not exceeding ten minutes.
Mold making: Pour the treated silicone onto the product or model that needs to be molded by brushing or pouring. Before pouring the silicone, it is necessary to apply a mold release agent on the surface of the product or model first to facilitate subsequent demolding. For some complex molds, gauze fiber cloth can be pasted in the silicone to increase its strength and tensile force.
Curing and molding: Silicone can cure at room temperature, and the curing time can be controlled by adjusting the proportion of the curing agent. Generally speaking, the more curing agent is added, the faster the curing speed will be, but it may also affect the performance of the mold. Therefore, it is necessary to make reasonable adjustments according to the actual situation.
