Composite liquid mold silicone rubber is usually of addition or condensation type. The two components need to be mixed in proportion. The operation steps are as follows:
Mix in proportion
According to the weight ratio of 1:1 specified in the product manual, accurately weigh Component A (base glue) and Component B (curing agent) with an electronic scale and pour them into a clean mixing bucket.
Stir at a constant speed in the same direction with a stirring rod for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure that the two components are fully integrated. During the stirring process, try to minimize the formation of bubbles. If there are a large number of bubbles after stirring, it can be left to stand for 5 to 10 minutes, or put into a vacuum machine to deaerate (this can be ignored if there is no vacuum machine, as the bubbles will naturally rise).
Injection silicone rubber
Slowly pour the well-mixed silicone rubber along the inner wall of the mold, allowing the rubber to naturally cover the components. Avoid direct impact on the components, which may cause displacement or the formation of bubbles.
The thickness of the adhesive should be controlled at 2 to 5cm. If the original component is large in volume, it can be poured in 2 to 3 times. After each injection, wait for the adhesive to have initially cured before pouring the next layer.
Curing and shaping
At room temperature (around 25℃), the curing time of silicone rubber is generally 4 to 8 hours, and the higher the temperature, the faster the curing. If it is necessary to accelerate the curing process, the ambient temperature can be appropriately increased, but it should not exceed 40℃.
After the silicone rubber has fully cured (the surface is not sticky to the touch and has elasticity), remove the mold baffle and carefully take the original part out of the silicone rubber to obtain a silicone rubber soft mold.
If the original structure is complex (such as deep cavity or inverted), the silicone rubber mold needs to be processed into pieces: use a utility knife to cut along the preset parting line, remove the original, and then bond and fix the piece molds with silicone rubber to facilitate subsequent demolding.
