Key points for the RTV2 silicone rubber usage process of the plaster relief mold
Mother mold treatment
First, clean the surface of the plaster relief mother mold thoroughly, remove dust and oil stains, and then evenly apply a release agent (such as vaseline or special silicone release agent) to avoid the silicone rubber from sticking to the mother mold.
Silicone rubber mixing
Mix the RTV2 silicone rubber base glue and curing agent in a 100:2 weight ratio. Stir in the same direction at a uniform speed to reduce bubble formation; if there is a vacuum equipment, vacuum degassing treatment can be carried out (without equipment, puncture the surface bubbles with a needle).
Application and filling
Use the "brush first and then fill" method: first, evenly apply the mixed silicone rubber on the surface of the mother mold to ensure it covers all details;
After the first layer of silicone rubber is preliminarily cured, fill the remaining silicone rubber to the desired thickness (usually the thickness of the plaster relief mold silicone rubber is recommended to be 3-5mm), allowing the silicone rubber to flow naturally.
Curing and demolding
Place it at room temperature for 4-6 hours until the silicone rubber is fully cured, then carefully peel off the mother mold, and you can obtain the plaster relief's silicone rubber mold; after the mold is formed, you can spray a small amount of soap water on the surface as a release agent for the plaster slurry, and then fill the plaster slurry to form the mold.
