Functional Features:
Powerful control and protection functions: It can realize complete control and protection of the engine-generator, with automatic synchronization function, capable of phase matching, positive and negative slip frequency control, etc., and can also control the closing and opening of circuit breakers.
Load distribution function: It supports proportional load sharing, enabling load distribution for up to 32 generator sets, applicable to both isochronous and droop control modes. It can also realize basic load control, import-export control and asymmetric load control through external basic load input.
Automatic detection and emergency functions: Equipped with AMF (Automatic Mains Failure) detection function, it can perform decoupling and emergency operation when the mains power fails. It can also automatically start or stop the generator according to the load condition, improving the efficiency of the power generation system.
Communication functions: Supports CAN network communication, capable of communicating with the engine ECU (standard SAE-J1939 protocol and various proprietary engine OEM protocols). It also has serial Modbus RTU (slave) communication function for SCADA alarm and external control. Remote alarm, control and configuration can be performed through the RP-3400 XT remote panel, with a communication distance of up to 250m.

Working Principle: The working principle of the WOODWARD 8440-2087 relay module is based on electromagnetic induction. When the electromagnetic coil inside the module is energized, it generates an electromagnetic field, causing the iron core to move under magnetic attraction. The movement of the iron core drives the mechanical part to act, thereby changing the contacts (switches) — normally open contacts close and normally closed contacts open. In this way, electrical isolation between the control signal and the controlled circuit is achieved, and it can also control the on-off of high-current or high-voltage circuits.
