RED Radio Equipment Directive Testing
RED Directive Overview
The RED (Radio Equipment Directive) is a mandatory certification directive issued by the European Union for wireless equipment. It aims to ensure the free circulation of wireless equipment in the EU market and guarantee its safety and electromagnetic compatibility during use. Wireless chargers with wireless communication functions (such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.) must comply with the requirements of the RED Directive.
Testing Content
Electromagnetic Radiation: Measure the electromagnetic energy radiated by the wireless charger into the surrounding space during operation to ensure that the radiation intensity remains within specified limits, thereby protecting human health and the normal operation of other electronic devices.
Frequency Range and Transmission Power: Verify that the frequencies used by the wireless charger are within the legally permitted bands specified by the EU and that the transmission power complies with standard requirements to prevent interference with other wireless communication systems.
Communication Performance: Test the wireless charger's wireless communication functions, including data transmission rate, communication stability, error rate, and other metrics, to ensure reliable communication with other devices.
