The system architecture of the Bently Nevada 3500/05 rack mainly includes the following parts: Slot and Module Layout: Full-size Rack: A 19-inch EIA rack with 14 module slots. Miniature Rack: A 12-inch rack with 7 module slots. Module Location: The power supply and rack interface module must occupy the leftmost position of the rack. Various monitoring modules can be installed in the remaining positions, such as the transient data interface module, monitor module, relay module, phasor module, and communication gateway module, etc.
Installation Forms: Panel Installation: Fixed on the rectangular cutout of the panel through clamps, and the wiring connections and I/O modules are accessed from the rear of the rack. Rack Installation: Install the 3500 rack on the 19-inch EIA guide rail, and the wiring connections and I/O modules are accessed from the rear. Bulkhead Installation: It is used in situations where access from the rear is not possible. The wiring connections and I/O modules are accessed from the front of the rack. However, the miniature rack does not support this installation method. Power Supply System: Usually, the 3500/15 power supply module is adopted, which can accept AC or DC input, various high or low input voltages, and convert them into the voltages required by the 3500 modules. One or two power supplies can be installed. When two power supplies are installed, the lower slot accommodates the main power supply, and the upper slot accommodates the redundant power supply.
Interface Modules: The frame interface module is the basic interface of the 3500 frame, supporting the proprietary protocol of Bently Nevada for frame configuration and retrieving information from the unit. Each frame requires one frame interface module, which is usually installed adjacent to the power supply. The transient data interface module is the main interface between the rack and the configuration, display, and condition monitoring software. Each rack requires one, located in the slot adjacent to the power supply slot. Backplane and Communication: The backplane provides electrical connections for each module, enabling the modules to communicate with each other, realize data transmission and sharing, and ensure the coordinated operation of the entire monitoring system. Other Components: It may also include optional components such as internal or external intrinsic safety barriers for installation in hazardous areas, and electrically insulated installation substrates, etc., to meet the requirements of different application scenarios.
