Performance Characteristics of Step Fan Shaft Forgings

  1. High-quality Steel Billet Selection, Quality Control from the SourceRaw materials are high-quality alloy steel billets such as 40Cr, 35CrMo and 42CrMo, processed by electric furnace smelting + LF ladle refining + VD vacuum degassing. The content of sulfur and phosphorus impurities is strictly controlled, with double component testing before and after furnace to eliminate component deviation. This ensures the basic mechanical properties, torsion resistance and fatigue resistance of forgings from the source, adapting to the long-term high-speed operation conditions of fans.

  2. Special Forging for Stepped Shafts, Optimized Metal Flow LinesThe forging ratio is ≥3.0, and ≥5.0 for heavy-duty shafts. Adopting multi-pass upsetting + drawing + segmented precision forging process, the metal flow direction is optimized according to the stress characteristics of different shaft diameter sections of the stepped shaft, so that the flow lines are continuously distributed along the axial direction. The shaft shoulder transition is fully forged without defects, greatly improving the torsion and fatigue resistance of the shaft body and effectively avoiding fracture risks under high-speed rotation.

  3. Custom Heat Treatment, Balancing Strength and ToughnessTailored heat treatment schemes are formulated for different materials and fan working conditions, adopting quenching and tempering (quenching + high-temperature tempering). The tempering temperature and cooling rate are precisely controlled, making the hardness uniformity of forgings ±2HRC (conventional HRC28-32). This effectively eliminates forging internal stress, balances the strength, toughness and machinability of the shaft body, and prevents deformation and cracking during subsequent processing and operation.

  4. Precision Straightening and Finishing, Strict Control of Geometric AccuracyEquipped with special CNC straightening machines and finishing equipment for stepped shafts, the forgings are subjected to multi-station straightening and dimensional calibration. The key dimension tolerance is ≤±0.5mm, bearing position coaxiality ≤0.02mm, straightness ≤0.4mm/m, and shaft shoulder transition fillet ≥5% of shaft diameter. This ensures that the geometric accuracy of forgings meets the assembly requirements of high-speed fan operation, reducing equipment vibration and noise during operation.
