The CIP cleaning system, also known as the on-site cleaning system, is simply referred to as CIP. It is also known as cleaning in place or positioning cleaning. It is suitable for cleaning the pipes and inner walls of tanks in dairy plants, breweries, beverage manufacturers, and general food processing plants. CIP on-site cleaning (positioning cleaning) involves using high-temperature, high-concentration cleaning solutions without disassembling or moving the equipment to exert strong pressure on the equipment to clean the surfaces in contact with food. The CIP (Cleaning In Place) system refers to the process where equipment (vessels, pipes, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) and an entire production line are automatically cleaned by spraying a certain temperature of cleaning fluid onto the internal surfaces of the equipment through sealed pipes within a predetermined time frame, without the need for manual disassembly or opening of the equipment.
The fully automatic CIP cleaning system mainly consists of individual or multiple cleaning liquid storage tanks and pipes, distributors, booster pumps, recirculation pumps, pneumatic control valves, acid-base metering pumps, plate heat exchangers, temperature control instruments, conductivity detectors, liquid level control instruments, and PLC touchscreens, control cabinets, and other components. CIP equipment typically includes cleaning liquid storage tanks, spray heads, liquid delivery pumps, piping components, and program control devices, along with the entire set of equipment to be cleaned. These components form a cleaning cycle system, which is pre-programmed according to the selected process conditions and inputted into a computer for fully automatic operation.
The CIP system is widely used in food and beverage production facilities with high levels of mechanization, such as dairy products, beverages, juices, fruit purees, jams, and alcoholic beverages.
