1. Product Overview
Cold Rolled Coil (CRC) is produced from pickled hot rolled coils. It is rolled to target thickness at room temperature below recrystallization temperature, followed by batch/continuous annealing, skin-pass leveling, anti-rust oil coating and coiling. Without high-temperature hot rolling process, it eliminates hot rolled black oxide scale completely, featuring smooth surface, ultra-high dimensional accuracy and excellent stamping performance. It acts as core raw material for home appliances, automotive spare parts, hardware stamping, substrate for galvanized & color coated steel, and precision equipment shells.
Cold Rolling Forming Principle
Hot rolled black coils are pickled to remove oxide scale first, then heavily reduced by multi-stand cold rolling mills at ambient temperature. Cold processing causes work hardening, which is eliminated by annealing to restore steel plasticity and toughness. Afterwards, skin-pass mill corrects flatness and controls surface roughness. The finished strip is tension coiled into standard coils, available for leveling, slitting, stamping and painting deep processing directly.

SPCC (Commercial Grade), SPCD (Drawing Grade), SPCE (Deep Drawing Grade), SPCG (Extra Deep Drawing IF Steel)

6. Mandatory Batch Inspection Standards (Sampling Test Per Batch)
6.1 Mechanical Property Tests
Tensile test: Yield strength, tensile strength, elongation after fracture to distinguish commercial/drawing/deep drawing grades
180° cold bend test: No cracks or lamination, suitable for bending forming
Erichsen cupping test: Evaluate deep drawing capacity for deep drawing grades
Hardness test: HV/HRB to identify soft, half-hard and full-hard delivery status
Spectrochemical analysis: Strict control over C, S, P impurities; low carbon & sulfur for deep drawing steel
6.2 Appearance & Dimensional Inspection
Smooth surface free of oxide scale, scratches, indentations, roll marks and slivers; flat coil shape without severe telescoping or loose winding; thickness, width and coil weight checked and recorded coil by coil.
6.3 Surface Roughness Test
Ra 0.6–1.6mm adjustable to match painting, electroplating and film lamination processes.
