1. Product Overview
Boiler Steel Plate refers to special pressure-bearing medium & heavy steel plates for boilers, complying with national standard GB/T 713-2023. It is specially applied for high temperature & high pressure pressure components of power station boilers, industrial boilers, waste heat boilers, including steam drums, water walls, headers, heat exchangers and pressure-bearing furnace shells.
Manufactured via LF+VD vacuum refined killed steel smelting, it strictly controls harmful impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, hydrogen and oxygen. It features stable high-temperature stress rupture strength, creep resistance, excellent hot & cold forming performance, low-temperature impact toughness and superior weldability. It can continuously bear high-temperature steam, alternating pressure and flue gas corrosion, acting as core safety pressure-bearing raw material for thermal power, chemical industry and biomass energy boilers. It is strictly regulated by special equipment codes, with complete special equipment inspection certificates supplied together with delivery.
High Temperature Pressure Bearing Service Principle
The inner side of boiler plates bears high-temperature water vapor, while the outer side is exposed to high-temperature flue gas, enduring long-term cyclic thermal alternating loads. Precise alloy ratio and heat treatment refine grains to form stable metallographic structure within 450℃ for carbon grades and 580℃ for Cr-Mo alloy grades, restraining high-temperature creep deformation. Ultra-low impurity content greatly reduces risks of welding hydrogen-induced cracks and lamellar tearing, avoiding bulging, leakage and cylinder burst during long-term operation to ensure safe and stable boiler operation.

6.1 Physical & Mechanical Performance Tests
Tensile test: Yield strength, tensile strength, elongation after fracture to match allowable stress for boiler pressure design
Charpy V-notch low-temperature impact test: Graded impact test at room temperature / 0℃ / -20℃ to eliminate low-temperature brittle fracture risk
180° cold bend test: No cracks or lamination to satisfy cylinder rolling & bending forming processing
Z-direction tensile test (Z-grade plate): Measure reduction of area to evaluate lamellar tearing resistance
Full spectrum chemical analysis: Strict control over harmful impurities C, Si, Mn, S, P; low sulfur & phosphorus for on-site welding
Hardness test: Brinell HB, matching boiler welding process to avoid hardening brittleness
Special additional tests on request: HIC hydrogen induced cracking test, SSCC sulfide stress corrosion test (for waste incineration & sulfur-containing flue gas boilers)
6.2 100% Mandatory Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing (UT) for Special Equipment
Class Ⅰ / Ⅱ ultrasonic inspection executed per GB/T 2970 to fully detect internal lamination, white spots, shrinkage cavities, inclusions and internal cracks; plates without qualified UT reports cannot be used for manufacturing boiler pressure-bearing components.
6.3 Appearance & Dimensional Inspection
Smooth surface free of cracks, scabs, folds, pits, lamination and massive oxide scale; residual thickness after defect grinding shall not be lower than minimum standard limit; thickness, width, length and straightness measured and filed plate by plate.
