1. Product Profile
Cast pipes are integrated hollow tubular components manufactured with pig iron, carbon steel, heat-resistant alloy steel and stainless steel via centrifugal casting, sand casting, continuous casting and other forming techniques. Differing from hot/cold drawn seamless tubes and welded steel pipes, they stand as the optimal option for large-diameter, heavy-wall and special-shaped pipelines working under high-temperature, abrasive and corrosive environments. The product lineup covers ductile iron pipes, grey cast iron pipes, alloy cast steel pipes and heat-resistant centrifugal cast pipes, widely deployed in municipal fluid conveyance, high-temperature industrial furnaces, chemical anti-corrosion piping and mine abrasive material delivery.

2.1 Classified by Raw Material
Ductile Iron Pipes (Preferred for Municipal Works)Grades: QT450-10, QT500-7Production feature: Rare earth magnesium spheroidizer is mixed into molten iron to form spherical graphite, combining cast iron’s corrosion resistance and steel’s high toughness.Mechanical indicators: Tensile strength ≥420MPa, elongation ≥7%, maximum working pressure up to 6MPa, stable performance for areas with seismic intensity up to grade 9.
Grey Cast Iron Pipes (For Gravity Drainage)Grades: HT200, HT250Equipped with flaky graphite structure, these pipes deliver excellent shock absorption and noise reduction at competitive costs yet feature relatively high brittleness. The allowable working pressure is below 0.3MPa, only suitable for non-pressure sewage and rainwater pipelines.
General Carbon Cast Steel Pipes (For Industrial General Use)Grades: ZG230-450, ZG270-500Suitable for low-pressure fluid pipelines, mechanical cylinder barrels, dust removal ducts and more.
Heat-resistant Alloy Centrifugal Cast Pipes (For High-temperature Service)Cr-Ni alloy grades: HK40, HP40, ZG40Cr25Ni20, ZG30Ni35Cr15Long-term service temperature ranges from 800℃ to 1200℃, with outstanding resistance against high-temperature creep, sulfidation and carburization. Cast Stainless Steel Pipes (For Corrosive Media)Grades: ZG06Cr19Ni10, ZG06Cr17Ni12Mo2, resistant to acid, alkali and seawater erosion.
2.2 Classified by Casting Technology
Centrifugal Cast Pipes (Premium Mainstream Type)The rotating mold runs at high speed, pushing molten metal evenly against the pipe wall through centrifugal force, while internal slag and air bubbles float out automatically. The finished pipes feature dense metal structure, minimal blowholes and shrinkage cavities, uniform wall thickness (tolerance ≤5%) and smooth inner surface with roughness Ra3.2–6.3. Two types are available: water-cooled metal mold and coated metal mold, covering all standard sizes.
Continuous Cast PipesLong-length pipes formed in one step through horizontal continuous casting, featuring high production efficiency and low unit price, mainly applied to small & medium bore grey cast iron drainage pipes.
Sand Cast PipesA conventional manufacturing process resulting in rough surface and frequent defects. Only used for secondary low-pressure pipelines and gradually phased out of mass production.
2.3 Classified by Connection Type
Flexible Socket Joint: T-type, N1-type and X-type with rubber sealing gaskets, allowing 3–5° deflection and slight foundation settlement, standard fitting for municipal pipe networks.
Flange Joint: Adopted for high-pressure industrial pipelines and equipment connections.
Welded Joint: Used for assembling heat-resistant alloy cast pipes in high-temperature furnaces.
3. Standard Production Flow of Water-cooled Centrifugal Cast Pipes
Raw Material Melting: Proportionally feed pig iron and scrap steel into intermediate frequency furnaces, conduct desulfurization, deoxidation and carbon-silicon component adjustment.
Spheroidization & Alloy Modification: Add rare earth magnesium spheroidizer for iron pipes; supplement chromium, nickel and molybdenum for alloy pipes to adjust chemical composition.
Centrifugal Pouring: Rotate the pipe mold steadily at 500–1500r/min for quantitative pouring, then apply water cooling for rapid solidification and shaping.
Annealing Treatment: Eliminate casting internal stress, transform white iron structure into ductile ferrite to boost elongation and impact resistance.
Internal & External Anti-corrosion Treatment
Outer wall: Zinc spraying + asphalt paint / coal tar epoxy coating
Inner wall: Cement mortar lining for municipal water supply pipes, epoxy resin coating for chemical pipelines, passivation treatment for high-temperature alloy pipes
Finishing & Inspection: Pipe end polishing, dimensional calibration, hydrostatic test and non-destructive flaw detection
