Feeding & Pre-Screening: Raw sand and gravel are introduced into the feeding hopper. A vibrating screen splits the material, routing the clay-bound fractions directly into the log washer while bypassing clean fines to save energy.
Aggressive Clay Dissolution: The material enters the inclined trough of the dual-shaft log washer. High-torque steel shafts fitted with overlapping alloy paddles rotate counter-directionally. The paddles aggressively cut and chop through mud balls, forcing the sand and rocks to grind against each other (material-on-material attrition). This intense friction strips away the sticky clay jackets bound to the sand grains.
Counter-Current Rinsing: High-pressure water spray bars wash the tumbling material. Clean, heavier coarse gravel is conveyed up the incline by the paddle pitch and discharges at the top. Concurrently, the dissolved mud, silt, and fine sand form a slurry and flow downward, overflowing via the lower weir.
Hydrocyclone Fine Sand Recovery: The muddy overflow slurry is not wasted; it is pumped directly into a hydrocyclone circuit. Centrifugal force separates the ultra-fine sand particles from the clay waste. The clean, recovered fine sand is then dropped onto a high-frequency dewatering screen, blended with the coarse sand, and discharged as a dry, ready-to-market finished product.
