3. Working Principle
The mechanical scrubbing principle of a log washer remains highly effective throughout its operational lifespan. The machine operates on a structured, inclined system utilizing counter-current washing.
Material Feed & Saturation: Raw, clay-bound material is introduced at the lower end of the inclined trough (feed intake) while high-pressure wash water flows through the system.
Dual-Shaft Attrition: The dual forged-steel shafts (revolving shaft or log) spin counter-directionally toward each other. The interlocking alloy paddles (spiral) cut and chop through tough mud balls. This action forces the rocks to grind against each other (material-on-material attrition), stripping away sticky impurities.
Dual Discharge Stream: The pitch of the paddles continuously moves the heavy, thoroughly cleaned aggregate up the incline, discharging it out the top (Ore discharge). Concurrently, the dissolved clay and lighter silt float backward, exiting as a slurry via the low-end weir (Clayey overflow).
