Fiberglass staircase is a staircase or staircase component made mainly of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), which has outstanding characteristics such as lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance, safe insulation, and maintenance free. It is widely used in industrial fields such as chemical, power, sewage treatment, and some civilian places.
Definition and core characteristics of fiberglass stairs
Basic definition: Fiberglass stairs do not refer to the combination of "glass" and "steel", but rather to stairs made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP, commonly known as fiberglass) for the main load-bearing structure or tread board. It often appears in the form of grille treads or as a structural material for integral stairs.
Core material characteristics:
Lightweight and high-strength: Its density is about 1/4 of steel, but its tensile strength can reach over 600MPa, comparable to ordinary steel, making it easy to handle and install.
Excellent corrosion resistance: It can withstand long-term corrosion from acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents, and is not easily rusted or aged in harsh environments such as chemical and sewage treatment. Its service life can reach 15-20 years or even longer.
Safe insulation: Volume resistivity>10 ΩΩ· cm, suitable for live working environments with voltage levels of 220kV and below, effectively preventing electric shock.
Fireproof and anti slip: It has good flame retardant performance (up to different levels), and the tread surface is usually designed with anti slip patterns or hollow grids, providing stable grip and facilitating drainage
