The load reaction with pilot-assisted opening integrates the functions of two types of valves: a check valve and a relief valve. It allows oil to flow freely in one direction from the directional valve (port 2) to the load port (port 1), while the direct-acting, pilot-assisted relief valve function can control the flow of liquid from port 1 to port 2. The pilot assist at port 3 reduces the effective set value of the relief function according to the pilot ratio.
