I. Production Process

Hot-dip galvanizing (also known as hot-dip galvanization) involves subjecting the steel pipe to surface treatment (such as pickling, derusting, and cleaning) and then immersing it in molten zinc liquid (at a temperature of about 440-460°C). This allows a uniform zinc layer to adhere to the surface of the steel pipe, forming a composite protective layer consisting of an "iron-zinc alloy layer + pure zinc layer". This process enables the zinc layer to combine tightly with the steel pipe substrate, with strong adhesion and long-lasting anti-corrosion effect.

II. Performance Characteristics

1. Superior Corrosion Resistance: The zinc layer forms a dense protective film, which can effectively isolate steel from air and moisture, delaying rusting. In dry environments, the service life can reach 20-30 years; in humid or industrial environments, it can also maintain a good condition for more than 10 years, far superior to cold galvanized (electrogalvanized) steel pipes.

2. Stable Mechanical Properties: It retains the original strength and toughness of the steel pipe, able to withstand a certain amount of pressure and impact force, suitable for load-bearing, transportation and other scenarios.

3. Smooth and Uniform Surface: The zinc layer is completely covered without defects such as missing plating or peeling. The appearance is silvery white (or colored after passivation treatment), with both practicality and certain decorativeness.

4. Convenient Construction: It can be installed by welding, threaded connection, flange connection, etc., adapting to various engineering needs.

III. Classification

1. By use:

- Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes for water and gas transmission: Used for the transmission of fluids such as tap water, natural gas, and heating, and must comply with pressure pipeline standards (such as GB/T 3091-2015).

- Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes for structural use: Used for building brackets, guardrails, steel structure components, etc., focusing on strength and corrosion resistance.

2. By pipe diameter: Common specifications range from DN15 (nominal diameter 15mm) to DN200 and above, which can be selected according to engineering needs.

IV. Application Scenarios

- Construction Engineering: Indoor and outdoor water supply and drainage pipes, fire-fighting pipes, heating pipes, curtain wall keels, balcony guardrails, etc.

- Municipal Construction: Urban water supply pipes, sewage treatment pipes, street lamp poles, traffic guardrails, etc.

- Industrial Field: Workshop transmission pipes, equipment brackets, chemical anti-corrosion pipes (in non-strongly corrosive environments), etc.
