Functional Features
Rich Human-Machine Interaction Functions: Equipped with an advanced User-Machine Interface (UMI), there are two types: analog single-line diagram HMI and advanced HMI. It can display all data required for the operation of local equipment as required, present all measured values and diagnostic data in digital format with units and/or bar charts, and also show operation and alarm information, supporting operations such as alarm confirmation and Sepam reset. In addition, it can display the list of activated functions, main protection function settings, perform output tests and display logic input status, etc. Meanwhile, 2 passwords can be input for protecting parameter and protection function settings.
Powerful Protection Functions: It can provide 16 types of digital current or voltage protection for power systems, applicable to various power equipment such as substations, feeders, busbars, motors, and transformers. It has phase-to-phase short-circuit protection function, which is sensitive to the maximum phase current obtained by measurement, with 2 sets of setting values, enabling instantaneous or delayed tripping, and supporting definite time (DT) or IDMT curves (16 standardized IDMTs available for selection). It also has earth fault protection function based on calculated and measured residual current values, also with 2 sets of setting values, allowing selection of definite time or IDMT curves, and featuring 2nd harmonic suppression function to ensure stability when the transformer is powered on.
Diversified Communication Capabilities: Supports multiple communication protocols such as Modbus, Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-103, DNP3, and IEC 61850. It can perform serial communication through RS485 interface and also supports Ethernet interface, enabling data exchange through local area network or enterprise local area network, facilitating connection and data interaction with other intelligent electronic devices or systems.
Flexible Input and Output Configuration: The basic unit module of Sepam Series 80 itself has a certain number of input and output ports, and the number of inputs and outputs can be expanded by adding MES120 modules, up to 42 inputs and 23 outputs. The control matrix can be customized by changing the allocation of output relays, LEDs, and display messages to meet different control and monitoring needs.
Accurate Data Monitoring and Recording Functions: Equipped with power grid quality measurement function, it can detect and record data related to power grid interference for analysis. When tripping occurs, it can store the value of tripping current and save data of the last 5 trips. It can also record all sampling values of measured current and voltage, status of all logic inputs and outputs, etc., supporting COMTRADE format recording, and the number and duration of records can be adjusted.
Reliable Fault Diagnosis and Self-Protection Functions: The module performs a series of self-tests to detect internal faults that may cause misoperation or failure of fault tripping, which are divided into major faults and minor faults. Major faults will set Sepam to a fail-safe position, disable protection functions, and force release output relays; minor faults will reduce the operating level of Sepam but still ensure equipment protection. At the same time, it can monitor current transformers/voltage transformers (CT/VT). When CT or VT is disconnected, it can disable protection functions to avoid misoperation, and also monitor tripping circuit faults, circuit breaker opening and closing position contact matching, etc., providing a basis for equipment maintenance.

Power Supply Parameters: The rated supply voltage range is 24VDC to 250VDC.
Display Parameters: The display resolution is 128×64 pixels.
Indicator Lights: There are 2 LEDs on the front panel for displaying Sepam's operating status, 2 LEDs on the back for displaying Sepam's operating status, and 9 LEDs on the front panel for parameter indication.
Output Parameters: Annunciator relays support multiple voltages, such as 100-240V AC, 127V DC, 220V DC, 24V DC, 48V DC, etc. The continuous current is generally 2A, and the breaking capacity under different voltages ranges from 0.15A to 2A; Control relays also support multiple voltages, with a continuous current of 8A. The breaking capacity ranges from 0.1A to 8A depending on the voltage and load type, and the making capacity is less than 15A within 200ms.
Mechanical Parameters: Height is 222mm, width is 264mm, depth is 89.7mm. The front panel has a protection rating of IP52, and other parts have a protection rating of IP20.

Application Fields
Line Protection: Can be used for incoming/outgoing line protection, capable of realizing directional or non-directional phase overcurrent protection, earth protection, as well as voltage protection and frequency protection, etc. It is suitable for the protection of low-capacitance feeders in impedance-grounded or solidly neutral-grounded systems.
Transformer Protection: Applicable to the protection of incoming transformers and distribution transformers, providing directional or non-directional phase overcurrent protection, earth protection, voltage protection, frequency protection, overload protection, etc. It can also monitor non-electrical parameters such as temperature, gas, and pressure, and can be used for differential main protection, backup protection, and non-electrical protection of main transformers with 110kV and below.
Capacitor Protection: Used for the protection of capacitors and capacitor banks, capable of realizing phase overcurrent protection, earth protection, voltage protection, frequency protection, overload protection, temperature protection, and transverse differential protection, etc. It can also perform switching control and protection to ensure the safe and stable operation of capacitor banks.

Busbar Protection: Suitable for busbar PT and busbar circuit breaker protection, capable of performing phase overcurrent protection (such as busbar charging protection), earth protection (PT insulation monitoring), voltage protection, frequency protection, and automatic switching control, etc. It can monitor the three-phase voltage and neutral point voltage of the busbar, realizing busbar short-circuit protection and bus tie circuit breaker protection.
Motor Protection: Can protect motors, monitor parameters such as motor current and voltage, and realize functions such as overcurrent protection, overload protection, and earth fault protection, preventing motors from being damaged due to faults and ensuring the reliable operation of motors.
Generator Protection: Applied in generator protection scenarios, it can monitor and protect the operating status of generators, with functions such as phase overcurrent protection, earth protection, and voltage protection, ensuring that generators can operate safely and stably under various working conditions.
