Schneider SEP888 59705 basic unit module belongs to the Sepam series. Its working principle mainly involves collecting relevant signals in the power system, and realizing functions such as protection, measurement, monitoring and control after internal processing. Details are as follows:


Data Acquisition: The module obtains analog signals such as voltage and current in the power system through voltage/current acquisition input terminals, and receives status switch signals of external equipment through logical input ports, such as the opening and closing status of circuit breakers. These signals are the basis for the subsequent processing of the module.


Signal Processing and Function Execution: The protection and measurement unit itself is the central processing part of the module, which processes the collected digital and analog signals. According to the preset protection algorithms and logic, it analyzes the collected current and voltage signals to determine whether there are abnormal situations such as overcurrent, overvoltage, and ground faults. If a fault signal is detected, according to the set protection strategy, such as instantaneous tripping or delayed tripping, the corresponding output relay is activated to control the action of circuit breakers and other equipment, cut off the fault circuit, and protect the power equipment. At the same time, the module also calculates the collected data to obtain other electrical parameters such as power and frequency, so as to realize the measurement and monitoring of the power grid operation status.


Human-Computer Interaction and Communication: The module is equipped with a human-computer interface, which can display the processed measured values, protection parameter settings, alarm and operation information in digital or graphic form, facilitating operators to view. In addition, it supports multiple communication protocols such as Modbus and Modbus TCP/IP, and can interact with other intelligent electronic devices or systems through RS485 interface or Ethernet interface, upload measurement data and equipment status information to the monitoring center, and also receive remote control commands to realize remote monitoring and management.


Function Expansion: The module itself has a certain number of input and output ports, and the number of input and output can be expanded by adding modules such as MES120. The control matrix can be customized by changing the distribution of output relays, LEDs and display messages to meet different control and monitoring needs. It can also be connected to temperature sensor modules to realize functions such as temperature measurement and protection.
