Platinum-cured liquid silicone rubber is A two-component liquid silicone rubber, consisting of Component A (containing vinyl silicone oil) and Component B (containing hydrogen-containing silicone oil and platinum catalyst). It has many excellent characteristics, making it particularly suitable for making molds for handmade soap candles. Firstly, it has excellent fluidity. After being mixed, it can quickly fill into various complex-shaped prototypes. Even the most minute patterns and exquisite relief designs can be accurately replicated, ensuring that after the mold is made, the handcrafted soaps and candles can perfectly replicate the details of the prototypes. Secondly, addition-cured liquid silicone rubber has excellent tear resistance and elasticity. The molds made from it are not prone to damage and can be reused multiple times, significantly reducing the cost of manual production. In addition, it has high chemical stability and good resistance to most chemical substances. It will not undergo chemical reactions with the oils, fragrances and other substances used in the production of handmade soaps and candles, thus ensuring the quality of the molds and finished products.
Preparation of tools and materials for making handmade soap candle molds
Before starting to make the mold, the following tools and materials need to be prepared. In terms of tools, it is necessary to prepare clean stirring containers, stirring rods, electronic scales, mold release agents, spray guns (if the surface of the prototype is rather complex), scissors (for cutting and demolding auxiliary materials), etc. In addition to the A and B components of the addition-cured liquid silicone rubber, a suitable prototype also needs to be prepared. The prototype can be resin handicrafts, 3D printed models, natural items (such as shells, flowers), etc. However, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the prototype is clean, dry and free of oil stains; otherwise, it will affect the adhesion between the silicone rubber and the prototype, leading to the failure of mold making.
