Platinum-cured silicone rubber (addition type) is suitable for manufacturing resin molds and has advantages such as high toughness, low shrinkage, and a large number of moldable cycles. It is the preferred material for mass production of resin handicrafts, models, etc.
1. Core advantages
The shrinkage rate is extremely low (usually ≤ 0.1%), allowing for precise replication of prototype details and ensuring the accuracy of resin products.
The tensile strength and tear strength are high, with good toughness, and the moldable cycles can reach 50-200 times (much higher than that of condensation-type silicone rubber).
It is resistant to high and low temperatures (-50℃ to 200℃), suitable for the pouring and curing temperatures of most resins (epoxy, PU, unsaturated polyester, etc.).
It is environmentally friendly and odorless, and does not release toxic substances during curing. The operating environment is safer.
2. Key operation points
Prototype processing: The prototype needs to be dried, free of oil stains and pores. For complex structures, pre-drainage channels should be embedded to avoid mold
Mixing ratio： Mix strictly according to the product instructions (usually A component： B component = 1：1 or 10：1). During mixing， operate slowly to reduce bubble formation.
Defoaming treatment： After mixing， it is recommended to vacuum defoam (vacuum degree - 0.09MPa) for 3-5 minutes， or let it stand for 10 minutes to naturally defoam to ensure no air bubble defects in the mold.
Curing conditions： Cure at room temperature (25℃) for 4-8 hours， or heat at 60℃ for 1 hour. Avoid vibration and temperature fluctuations during curing.
Demolding and curing： After curing， slowly demold. After the first demolding， it is recommended to place for 24 hours before conducting batch mold flipping to improve mold stability.
