It is used as a wetting and dispersing agent to stabilize various organic and inorganic pigments in solvent based coil coatings, wood and industrial coatings and pigment concentrate slurry, especially for acid catalyzed polyester/amino systems and high-temperature baking applications.

Features and Benefits

The additive can deflocculate the pigment through steric hindrance, and it also makes the pigment particles have the same charge. The resulting repulsive effect and steric stability prevent the pigment from co flocculation, so that the color without floating color and blossoming problem can be obtained in the system containing multiple pigments.

Because the particle size of the deflocculating pigment is small, it can obtain high gloss and enhance color strength. In addition, the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments can also be improved. As the viscosity decreases, the leveling performance is improved, and the addition amount of pigment can be increased.

VOK®- Disper 2026 can be used to disperse organic and inorganic pigments. It can stabilize titanium dioxide with different surface treatments to obtain high whiteness. Due to the narrow molecular weight distribution of additives, they have extensive compatibility in many different base material systems. The additive has good compatibility, especially in polyester resin.

VOK®- Disper 2026 is suitable for both the production of pigment concentrate slurry and co grinding. In the pigment concentrate slurry system, it has a significant viscosity reduction effect. In acid catalysis and acid curing system, it has no negative effect on curing performance. In the baking system, yellowing does not occur even at high temperatures.

Recommended dosage

The amount of additives (purchase form) is based on:

Inorganic pigment: 5-17%

Titanium dioxide: 1.3-2.5%

Organic pigment: 25-42%

Carbon black: 33-80%

The above recommended dosage is for reference, and good dosage shall be determined through a series of tests.

Adding method and processing guidance

Wetting dispersants should normally be added to the abrasive in such a way that they can be used effectively. Pre mix the resin and solvent components in the abrasive, and then slowly add the auxiliary agent under stirring. The pigment can be added only after the auxiliary agent is completely dispersed and uniform.
