German technical background VOK®-321 leveling agent
Silicone leveling agent with defoaming action. It improves the surface properties of solventborne coatings, with a particular focus on leveling. It causes only a slight decrease in surface tension. In contrast to most silicone additives, it does not stabilize the foam and therefore contributes to defoaming. VOK®-SL 321 is suitable for both solventborne and waterborne systems, increasing surface slip and therefore improved slip and abrasion resistance.
Prevents Benard fossa formation and improves the orientation of the matting agent.
VOK®-SL 321 is based on VOK®-SL 320 with the same active substance but with a different solvent, which is only used in the North American market.
Chemical composition: Polyether modified methylalkyl polysiloxane copolymer solution
Solvent: Butoxyethanol
Dosage: 0.1-0.5 % of total formulation dosage
Typical physicochemical data: Non-volatile: 51 %
