German Technical Background VOK-333 Leveling Agent Used in Printing Inks to Reduce Surface Tension Replaces BYK-333
German technical background VOK- 333 leveling agent
VOK-333 is used as a silicone surface additive for solvent-borne, solvent-free and aqueous systems. Suitable for coatings, inks, adhesives and room temperature curing plastic systems to strongly reduce surface tension.
Product information
Chemical composition
Polyether modified polydimethylsiloxane.
Typical physicochemical data
The data presented on this data page is typical and not a product specification.
Density (20 °C): 1.04 g/ml
Storage and transportation
Cloudiness and delamination may occur at temperatures below 5 °C, heat to 20 °C and mix well before use.
Application areas
Coatings and printing inks
Features and benefits
The additive drastically reduces the surface tension of coatings and printing inks, thus improving substrate wetting and preventing cratering. At the same time, it can also improve the surface slip and gloss. In aqueous systems, blocking resistance can be improved.
Recommended Use
The additive is recommended for all solvent-borne, solvent-free and waterborne coatings, printing inks and varnishes.
Recommended dosage
0.05-0.3 % additive dosage (supply form) is based on the total formulation, and waterborne and UV systems can be added up to 1%.
The above recommended dosage is for reference only, and the appropriate dosage needs to be determined after a series of tests.
Addition method and processing guidance
The additive can be added at any stage of production, including post-adding.
Special reminder
Unlike ordinary silicone fluids, the additive is "user safe". However, before use, a series of tests should be carried out to confirm whether the additive is foam stabilizing, in addition to evaluating its recoating and crater tendencies.
Adhesives and sealants
Features and Benefits VOK-333® is a highly effective silicone surface additive for silicone. It drastically reduces surface tension and therefore enhances the wetting of the system on demanding substrates.
Recommended Use
It is particularly recommended for improving the wettability of polyurethane, epoxy and acrylate adhesives on substrates.
Recommended dosage
0.05-0.3% Additive dosage (form of supply) is based on total formulation.
The above recommended dosage is for reference only, and the appropriate dosage needs to be determined after a series of tests.
Addition method and processing guidance
The additive can be added at any stage of production, including post-adding.

Room temperature curing system
Features and benefits
VOK-333 is a highly effective silicone surface additive for silicones. It drastically reduces surface tension and therefore enhances the wetting of the system on demanding substrates.
Recommended Use
It is particularly recommended for improving substrate wetting capacity of polyurethane and epoxy-based room-temperature curing plastics.
However, in order to reduce the foam stabilizing effect of the additives, it is recommended to add them at the final stage of manufacturing.
Special reminder
Unlike ordinary silicone fluids, the additive is "user safe". However, before use, a series of tests should be carried out to confirm whether the additive is foam stabilizing, in addition to evaluating its recoating and crater tendencies
