BTC pneumatic gear clutch brake applied for industrial manipulator
As usually, BTC pneumatic tooth clutch is used for connecting power. But in some special cases, it is applied as a brake. In this situation, BTC is reverse installation to be a brake for joint part locking. It is widely used in modern industry, then its function is similar with CBM pneumatic tooth brake. The difference is BTC brake is normal releasing, while CBM brake is normal braked.
When it is used as a brake, it is normal releasing. That is to say, when there is no air input, this BTC brake is released; after inputting air source, brake linked for locking. It is usually used for joint braking.

This air driven tooth clutch is a type of air shaft clutch, different model, its bore diameter is different, too. From above technical data, we can see that BTC pneumatic clutch bore diameter is 20-120mm. It is with compact size, while transmit high torque, its max torque can be reached to 16000N.m.
BTC clutch is tooth and tooth connecting, so it is only suitable for slow speed or standstill linking, its connecting speed is 20-100r/min. After connecting, tooth clutch can be rotated fastly, max speed reached to 2300r/min. As we know, BTC clutch is tooth and tooth connect, the model larger, its tooth quantity is more, so its torque is higher, too. For example, BTC-20 pneumatic clutch tooth quantity is 180 pieces, max torque is 200N.m; BTC-120 clutch tooth quantity is 270 pieces, its max torque is 1200N.m.
