Woven Mesh Gabion Boxes Description:
Woven mesh gabion boxes are hexagonal and double-twisted wire-mesh structures.
The gabion boxes are divided into chambers by inserting diaphragms into every meter. The wire used for making the boxes is thickly plated mild steel. The gabion units are delivered to the site flat-packed.
The double-twisted mesh connections of the woven mesh prevent from coming apart if the wire is cut or snaped, in each case, the location of the fault is restricted to the neighbouring areas. The units are attached to each other when using stitching wire and/or staples.
Technical Characteristics:
The mesh/wire versions generally used are summarised in the table below. In order to reinforce the structure, all edges are strengthened with a thicker wire. For the sizes and size tolerances about different versions, please see the dimensions below:
