Terramesh Description:

Terramesh

Green Terramesh is an environmentally friendly reinforced soil system used for embankment construction. It can make slopes stand steeper, withstand greater loads, and take less land than unreinforced slopes, yet it still offers the ability to revegetate.
It is made from PVC coated galvanized double twisted wire mesh reinforcing geogrid tails and the slope face. The geogrid tails are sandwiched between layers of compacted granular fill. Behind the front face of the unit, there are a factory fitted heavy welded panel and a coir erosion control blanket.

The welded panel and its support brackets hold the face at the correct angle during back-filling operations, remove the need for external formwork and shuttering adn save installation costs and time. This makes the installation of Green Terramesh many times quicker than traditional wrapped face soil reinforcement structures, yet also offering a crisper and more regular aesthetic face .

Comparing the material price of Green Terramesh to traditional geogrid wrapped face structures, we will see that Green Terramesh is more expensive. Once construction costs and installation time are considered, Green Terramesh proves its worth again.

The factory fitted coir matting behind the front face stops the backfill from spilling out between the apertures in the mesh facing. About 250mm depth of topsoil is installed directly behind the face of the unit and the purpose is to provide the nutrient reservoir for vegetation establishment.
