Hot‑rolled steel coil (HRC) is one of the most‑traded flat‑steel semi‑finished products in global steel markets. Manufactured by heating slab at high temperature then rolling continuously into wide steel strip and winding into coils, hot‑rolled coil possesses good ductility, weldability and cost‑effective performance. It is the primary raw material for steel‑processing factories to produce steel plates, cold‑rolled coils, steel pipes, structural parts and metal components. High‑quality Chinese hot‑rolled coils are widely exported to Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, South America and many other overseas markets.
1. Production Process & Product Features
Hot‑rolling is carried out above steel recrystallization temperature. After continuous rolling, hot‑rolled steel comes out with dark‑blue oxidized scale (mill scale) on its surface.
• Advantages: High production efficiency, low manufacturing cost, excellent plasticity for subsequent bending, cutting, stamping and welding
• Surface: Black oxide finish, without further pickling treatment
• Downstream options: Buyers can decoil, cut into flat sheets, or re‑roll into cold‑rolled coils according to production requirements

Carbon hot‑rolled coil covers the most popular grades for international procurement:
