Flat steel, also known as flat iron, is a hot-rolled or cold-rolled solid long steel material with a rectangular cross-section, flat four sides and uniform thickness. It is a highly versatile basic profile widely used in steel structure engineering. Our factory mainly supplies three core products: hot rolled flat steel, galvanized flat steel, and cold rolled flat steel. Featuring precise dimensions, flat surface, high straightness and no distortion, our products can be directly processed through cutting, bending, welding and punching. They are widely applied in building steel structures, mechanical manufacturing, embedded curtain wall parts, hardware processing, power engineering and other fields with sufficient stock, complete specifications and stable supply.

1. Core Material Grades

All flat steel products adopt national standard high-quality raw materials with high purity and low impurity content, ensuring stable mechanical properties. They meet the acceptance standards of civil construction, industrial equipment, foreign trade export and other projects. The mainstream material grades are as follows:

  • Q195: Features high toughness, strong plasticity and excellent bendability with high cost performance. It is widely used for general welding, bracket manufacturing, simple steel structures and daily hardware accessories, serving as the mainstream material for general-purpose hot rolled flat steel.

  • Q235B: The most common plain carbon steel on the market with balanced strength, toughness and weldability, as well as excellent cold and hot processing performance. It is suitable for most construction projects, steel structure brackets, embedded components and equipment bases, and acts as the primary base material for engineering-grade cold rolled flat steel and galvanized flat steel.

  • Q355B: A low-alloy high-strength steel grade with significantly better tensile, compressive and impact resistance than Q235. It is applicable for heavy-load steel structures, load-bearing equipment brackets, bridge auxiliary structures, large mechanical accessories and other high-strength working conditions.

  • 45# Carbon Steel: Possesses high strength, high hardness and good wear resistance, with further improved performance after quenching and tempering treatment. It is commonly used for precision mechanical parts, mold processing, high-strength transmission components and industrial precision processed parts.

  • Export Special Grades: SS400, SAE1006, A36 and other international standard materials, fully compliant with European, American and Southeast Asian standards, specially customized for overseas export orders.

2. Product Classification and Process Characteristics

2.1 Hot Rolled Flat Steel

Hot rolled flat steel is integrally formed through high-temperature hot rolling technology with high production efficiency and high yield rate. It features flat surface, uniform thickness, excellent toughness and superior weldability. The product is crack-resistant and can be directly processed by bending, punching, cutting and welding without secondary finishing. With strong bearing capacity and outstanding cost performance, it is the preferred basic profile for steel structure construction, factory building erection, bracket processing, embedded parts and fence manufacturing.

2.2 Cold Rolled Flat Steel

Cold rolled flat steel is manufactured from hot-rolled base materials through room-temperature precision rolling, straightening and finishing. It features ultra-small dimensional tolerance, high surface finish, excellent straightness and neat burr-free edges. Compared with hot-rolled products, it has higher precision and better appearance, making it suitable for scenarios with strict requirements on size and appearance, such as precision mechanical parts, high-end hardware, precision brackets, equipment decoration and precision welded components.

2.3 Galvanized Flat Steel

Galvanized flat steel is produced by applying hot-dip galvanizing or electro-galvanizing surface treatment on high-quality Q235B flat steel base. The uniform and firm zinc layer effectively isolates air, moisture and acid-base corrosion, providing long-term rust prevention, anti-corrosion and weather resistance. With a bright and aesthetic surface, it requires no additional painting or anti-rust treatment. It is suitable for outdoor open-air, humid, coastal and chemical corrosive environments, and widely used in power grounding, curtain wall embedding, outdoor steel structures, municipal guardrails and water conservancy anti-corrosion projects.

Domestic Standards: GB/T 700-2006, GB/T 1591-2018, GB/T 13796-2008

Galvanizing Standard: GB/T 13912-2002 Metallic Coatings - Hot-Dip Galvanized Coatings on Steel

International Standards: ASTM A36, JIS G3101, SS400, etc. Fully compliant with overseas project acceptance and foreign trade export requirements. Complete material certificates, factory inspection reports and quality documents can be provided.

Q195: Yield strength ≥195MPa, Tensile strength: 315–430MPa, excellent toughness and easy bending performance

Q235B: Yield strength ≥235MPa, Tensile strength: 370–500MPa, balanced plasticity, toughness and weldability

Q355B: Yield strength ≥355MPa, Tensile strength: 470–630MPa, high load-bearing capacity, strong impact resistance and deformation resistance

45# Carbon Steel: Tensile strength ≥600MPa, high hardness, wear resistance and tensile resistance, suitable for high-precision and high-strength processing scenarios

Galvanized flat steel completely retains the mechanical properties of the base steel. The zinc layer only provides anti-corrosion protection without affecting structural strength and processing performance.

8.1 Packaging Method

Suitable for long-distance land transportation and ocean shipping. Custom shipping marks and labels are available to ensure intact delivery of hot rolled flat steel, cold rolled flat steel and galvanized flat steel.

8.2 Delivery Cycle

Standard In-stock Specifications: Conventional Q235B hot rolled flat steel and regular galvanized flat steel are in sufficient stock, available for shipment within 3–5 working days after payment confirmation.

Regular Custom Processing: Custom-length cutting, random cutting, simple bending and punching processed cold rolled flat steel and conventional profiles require 5–10 working days for production and delivery.

Special Custom Products: Q355 high-strength material, 45# carbon steel, non-standard thickened and widened specifications, and high-zinc-layer customized galvanized products involve complex processes, with a delivery cycle of 10–20 working days.
