High-strength ship plate, namely hot-rolled steel plates for hull structures, also collectively referred to asship structural steel plate, is a special marine engineering steel plate manufactured in accordance with classification society specifications and specially used for shipbuilding and marine engineering construction. Featuring high strength, excellent low-temperature toughness, seawater corrosion resistance and superior weldability, all products have passed international classification society certifications, serving as core materials for the shipbuilding and marine engineering industries.

1. Material and Grade

1.1 General Strength Ship Plate (Yield Strength ≥235MPa)

Grades: A, B, D, E (corresponding to CCSA/CCSB/CCSD/CCSE)

Impact Temperature: A(0℃), B(0℃), D(-20℃), E(-40℃)

Application: Conventional structural parts of ships such as cargo holds, decks and ship bottoms. It is the most widely circulated category of ship structural steel plate in the market.

1.2 High-strength Ship Plate (Yield Strength: 315–690MPa)

Strength Levels: 32, 36, 40, 420, 460, 500, 550, 620, 690MPa

Quality Grades: A(0℃), D(-20℃), E(-40℃), F(-60℃)

Common Grades: AH32, DH32, EH32, FH32; AH36, DH36, EH36, FH36; AH40, DH40, EH40, FH40

Application: Key stress-bearing parts of large ocean-going vessels, offshore platforms and special ships. High-end high-strength ship plate and marine engineering steel plate all adopt this type of material.

2. Implementation Standards and Certifications

Domestic Standard: GB/T 712-2022 Steel for Hull Structures

International Classification Society Certifications: CCS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, KR, RINA, etc. All high-strength ship plates, ship structural steel plates and marine engineering steel plates hold valid certification certificates, meeting global procurement standards and complying with the construction and acceptance requirements of various ships and marine projects.

Thickness: 3–150mm, divided into thin plate (3–14mm), medium plate (14–50mm) and thick plate (50–150mm)

AR (As Rolled): Cost-effective, mostly used for medium and thin conventional ship structural steel plates

N (Normalized): Uniform metallographic structure and excellent low-temperature toughness, suitable for thick plates and marine engineering steel plates used in low-temperature sea areas

TMCP (Thermo-Mechanical Control Process): Refined grain structure and balanced strength and toughness, the mainstream production process for current high-strength ship plates

QT (Quenched and Tempered): High strength and thorough stress relief, applicable to ultra-high-strength materials for special ships and marine engineering.

5. Core Chemical Composition (wt%)

C: ≤0.18–0.21; Si: ≤0.50–0.80; Mn: ≤1.30–1.70

P: ≤0.025, S: ≤0.015, harmful impurities are strictly controlled

Alloy elements such as Cu, Cr, Ni and Nb are added as required to further improve the comprehensive performance of high-strength ship plates and marine engineering steel plates.

7. Appearance and Quality Characteristics

The four sides of the plate are neatly cut without burrs or deformation; the surface has uniform oxide scale without defects such as cracks, delaminations and pores.

Steel stamps are marked on the plate surface, including furnace number, batch number, classification society logo and specifications, with labels attached on the side for easy inventory and management.

Every high-strength ship plate has passed ultrasonic testing (UT), meeting the Class I/II testing standards of classification societies for reliable service safety.

Shipbuilding: Suitable for the structural construction of bulk carriers, oil tankers, container ships, LNG ships, fishing boats, yachts and other vessels with ship structural steel plates.

9.2 Detailed Delivery Cycle

Conventional In-stock Specifications: Common A/B/D/E grade ship plates, general ship structural steel plates such as AH36/DH36 are in sufficient stock, and can be delivered within 3-7 working days after payment confirmation for fast shipment.

Conventional Custom Specifications: Standard fixed-length and simply beveled conventional ship plates have a production cycle of 7-15 working days, and will be delivered immediately after passing quality inspection.
