Main Purpose
The main function of the high-temperature and high-pressure inactivation equipment for hospital laboratory wastewater is to rapidly and thoroughly disinfect and sterilize various toxic wastewaters, including experimental wastewater generated in hospital laboratories, medical sewage, and wastewater discharged from biopharmaceutical production, using high-temperature and high-pressure saturated steam.
Working Principle
Its working principle is primarily based on high-temperature and high-pressure steam sterilization technology, which eliminates pathogens in wastewater through physical thermal effects.
High temperature has a significant lethal effect on microorganisms. In hospital laboratory wastewater, biosafety laboratory wastewater, or wastewater discharged from biopharmaceuticals, most viruses and bacteria can be killed by heating at around 120-150℃ for 60-120 minutes. Thermal sterilization mainly utilizes high temperature to denature or coagulate the bacterial cells, inactivate enzymes, and ultimately kill the bacteria. However, before the bacterial cells coagulate, subtle changes such as the breakage of DNA single helices may occur, which may be the main lethal factor. The process of heat absorption and bond breakage in the chemical bonds of viral DNA and RNA at high temperatures is the core of viral inactivation at high temperatures. Chemical structures such as bacterial proteins and nucleic acids are connected by hydrogen bonds, which are relatively weak chemical bonds. When the bacterial cells are heated, the hydrogen bonds are destroyed, and the structures such as proteins, nucleic acids, and enzymes are also destroyed, losing their biological activity and leading to bacterial death. In addition, high temperature can also cause loss of membrane function, resulting in the leakage of small molecules and degraded ribosomes.
