2. Working Principle
An Industrial Sludge Thickener for Mining is a heavy-duty sedimentation machine used to increase the solid concentration of mineral processing waste, underground sludge, or tailings.
It transforms low-density, watery sludge into a highly concentrated underflow slurry while discharging clarified clean water from the top, serving as a critical bridge between the mineral washing circuit and final dewatering.
Key Components:
High-Torque Drive Unit: The "heart" of the machine, providing the immense torque needed to turn rakes through heavy mineral mud.
Optimized Feedwell: A central chamber designed to dissipate slurry energy and maximize contact with chemical flocculants.
Rake Mechanism with Scrapers: Slowly rotates to guide settled sludge toward the central bottom discharge.

3. Industrial Line Advantages
Chemical Conditioning: Raw mining sludge is fed into the central feedwell where it mixes with polymer flocculants. This causes fine, suspended mineral particles to instantly bind together into heavy aggregates called "flocs."
Gravity Sedimentation: Due to gravity, these heavy flocs settle rapidly to the bottom of the tank, forming a dense sludge bed, while clean water rises to the top.
Raking & Discharge: The heavy-duty rake mechanism slowly rotates through the sludge bed, compressing the mud to squeeze out trapped water and scraping the thickened sludge toward the central bottom outlet.
Separation Output: Clarified water continuously overflows from the top weir for immediate plant reuse, while the highly concentrated sludge is pumped out from the bottom for final disposal or filtration.
