Hot Rolled Steel Coil - Product Specification
1. Product Overview
Product Name: Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC)
Hot rolled steel coil is produced by rolling continuous cast slabs above the metal recrystallization temperature, followed by cooling and coiling. As a fundamental industrial raw material, it features excellent processability and a complete range of specifications. It is widely applied in steel structure engineering, machinery manufacturing, pipe production and metal deep processing, and serves as the primary substrate for cold rolled steel, galvanized steel, color coated steel and other related products.
2. Production Process
Continuous cast slab heating → High-pressure water descaling → Rough rolling → Finish rolling → Laminar flow cooling → Coiling → Inspection, finishing and packaging for storage

Thickness: 1.2mm ~ 25.4mm
Width: 800mm ~ 2050mm; Common sizes: 1250mm, 1500mm, 1800mm
Inner coil diameter: 580mm, 762mm (standard)
Single coil weight: 10~30 tons; Main range: 18~25 tons
Dimensional tolerance: Complies strictly with national and international standards. The products feature flat plate shape with qualified camber and flatness.

5. Product Properties & Characteristics
Mechanical properties: Stable yield strength and tensile strength, good plasticity and toughness. It delivers outstanding performance in bending, stamping, shearing and welding.
Surface condition: Delivered in standard hot rolled black surface with uniform oxide scale and greyish blue color. Pickling, shot blasting and leveling services are available upon request.
Advantages: Cost-effective, full range of specifications, suitable for most hot and cold working processes. Uniform material composition and stable quality.
Limitations: Lower surface finish and dimensional accuracy compared with cold rolled steel coil. The original oxide layer requires finishing for applications with high appearance requirements.
6. Application Scope
Steel structure construction: Factory frames, beams, supports, embedded parts, site enclosures and scaffolding.
Machinery manufacturing: Equipment bases, racks, flanges, general mechanical parts and stampings.
Pipe production: Substrate for straight seam welded pipes, spiral welded pipes and fluid conveyance pipes.
Metal deep processing: Raw material for cold rolled coil, hot-dip galvanized coil, electro-galvanized coil, color coated coil and cold-formed sections.
Transportation industry: Automobile chassis, carriage components, trailer parts and container plates.
Other fields: Pressure vessels, construction machinery, agricultural machinery fittings and hardware products.
7. Delivery Status & Processing Services
Standard delivery condition: As Hot Rolled (AR) without surface treatment.
Optional deep processing: Plate cutting, slitting, recoiling, pickling, shot blasting and leveling.
Delivery forms: Whole coil, cut plate and slit strip.
8. Packaging, Marking & Transportation
Packaging: Fully wrapped with anti-rust paper and plastic film, reinforced with high-tensile steel bands for moisture-proof, anti-collision and loose-prevention purposes.
Marking: Each coil is attached with paper or metal label indicating material grade, dimensions, heat number, weight, production date and executive standard.
Transportation: Applicable for sea, land and railway transportation. Proper loading and unloading ensure safe long-distance cross-border delivery.
9. Quality Inspection & After-sales
Original mill test certificate will be provided together with goods, including chemical composition, mechanical properties and full inspection reports.
Acceptance is conducted in accordance with relevant standards via appearance check, dimensional measurement and physical & chemical property test.
Products are free from defects such as delamination, cracks, inclusions, severe rust and peeling which affect normal usage.
10. Storage Requirements
Store indoors in dry and ventilated warehouses. Avoid outdoor stacking to prevent heavy rust caused by rain.
Place coils horizontally or vertically in standard stacking mode to avoid deformation and edge damage from extrusion.
Conduct regular inspection for long-term storage, and apply extra anti-rust protection when necessary.
