C276 Introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and
nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.
Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance.
The following datasheet provides an overview of HASTELLOY(r) C276.
Butt Welding Bend Introduction
Butt-weld elbows are steel pipe fittings manufactured through hot-pressing or forging processes, designed to establish a connection by being directly welded to steel pipes. Their manufacture adheres to numerous domestic and international standards—such as GB/T12459 and ASME B16.9—and encompasses various materials, including carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel. These elbows are categorized into two types based on their curvature radius: long radius (R=1.5D) and short radius (R=1D), with the long-radius type being the most commonly used specification. Based on pressure rating, this category of elbows is classified into 17 distinct grades, with the STD and XS grades being the most frequently utilized. By angle, they are categorized into types such as 45°, 90°, and 180°. Material specifications comply with the ASTM/ASME series of standards—for instance, carbon steel corresponds to A234 WPB, while stainless steel corresponds to A403 304/316. Their application standards span multiple sectors—including petrochemicals (SH3408), electric power (DL/T515), and shipbuilding (GB/T10752)—and they simultaneously meet specifications such as Japan's JIS, the USA's MSS, and the chemical industry's HGJ standards, making them suitable for fulfilling the directional connection requirements of a wide range of industrial piping systems.

Butt Welding Bend Processing
The manufacturing process for butt-weld elbows typically involves steps such as material selection, cutting, forming, heat treatment, welding, grinding, and inspection. A stainless steel butt-weld elbow is a type of pipe elbow manufactured from stainless steel raw materials through either hot-pressing or forging processes. Its connection method involves directly welding the elbow to a steel pipe, thereby facilitating the connection and directional change of the pipeline. The procedural steps for manufacturing butt-weld elbows using stainless steel clad plates are as follows: Blanking—selecting the appropriate stainless steel clad plate based on the required elbow dimensions and cutting it to produce the elbow blank. Pressing—subjecting the elbow blank to multiple pressing cycles using a forming die—either at room temperature or under heated conditions—until the desired shape and dimensions of the elbow are achieved; the conditions for heated pressing involve placing the blank in a heating furnace and raising its temperature to within the range of 930 ± 20°C prior to pressing. Welding—selecting and applying specific welding processes tailored to the different materials involved; for butt-welding, a three-layer weld structure is employed—specifically, a transition layer is inserted between the base layer and the cladding layer—meaning that the welding of the stainless steel clad material is executed in three distinct stages: welding the base layer, welding the cladding layer, and welding the transition layer. Heat Treatment—subjecting hot-pressed elbows to a normalizing heat treatment at 910 ± 10°C, or subjecting cold-pressed elbows to an annealing heat treatment at 610 ± 10°C.
