Inorganic nucleating agent Nu-300

Inorganic nucleating agent Nu-300 is a high-purity modified silica. Due to its high carbide lamellar structure and fineness, it is recommended for applications such as polypropylene automotive interior parts and dashboards. Inorganic nucleating agents act as small particles in the second phase during the crystallization process and exist in the melt of PET. In the high-temperature zone, these particles are in an immobile state. During the cooling process, the PET molecular chains form nuclei by adsorbing onto these particles and arranging in an ordered manner around the particles. Therefore, when these small molecular inorganic substances are used as heterogeneous nucleating agents, they reduce the activation energy required for PET to form nuclei, but have little impact on the subsequent crystallization growth process, that is, the process where PET molecular chains segments are adsorbed onto the nuclei surface and enter the crystal structure.

When inorganic nucleating agents are used as nucleating agents in PET, their initial crystallization occurs on the surface of the filler particles, accompanied by the transfer crystallization of the layered structure and the micro-lateral diffusion on the surface of the particles. After being added, it improves the tensile strength and bending strength of PET.

Product features

Compared with other organic nucleating agents, the plastic products modified by the inorganic nucleating agent Nu-300 have significantly improved rigidity, surface hardness and heat deformation temperature. Moreover, it has good dispersion and thermal stability. Under high-temperature conditions, it does not affect the other properties of the polymer products. However, the main drawbacks of this type of nucleating agent are its poor transparency and the fact that it becomes less effective with an increase in the addition amount.
