Nylon nucleating agent
Product description: BRUGGOLEN P22 is a fine powder mixture of organic and inorganic components.
Properties and applications: BRUGGOLEN P22 is a nucleating agent (crystallization accelerator) for various nylon (PA6, PA66, PA11, PA12, copolymer PA).
When BRUGGOLEN P22 is added to the polymer melt, the amorphous powder can easily be separated into very fine particles, and then plays a very effective nucleation role, forming a fine and uniform crystal structure.
It has the following advantages during injection molding processing:
* Shorten the molding cycle and increase productivity.
* Improve demolding.
* Improve the dimensional stability of the product.
* Reduce post-molding shrinkage.
* Prevent stress cracking of the product.
* Improve mechanical properties (increase tensile strength and hardness).
These improved properties exist not only in un-reinforced nylon, but also in reinforced nylon, and are particularly suitable for glass fiber reinforced nylon. The reason for these effects is that it can form a more fine and uniform crystal structure in the nylon matrix compared to glass fibers.
Dosage amount: The optimal dosage for BRUGGOLEN P22 is approximately 0.05 - 0.3%, and the exact dosage depends on the volume of the nylon and the desired properties of the final product.
Processing method: The best way to add is by using a twin-screw extruder for blending.
It is also possible to mix the additive with the polymer particles evenly through a dry-mixing method. During dry-mixing, a bonding oil such as 0.2% BRUGGOLEN P60 should be used.
To achieve the best processing conditions and product properties, it is recommended to use an appropriate lubricant in addition, such as 0.2 - 0.4% BRUGGOLEN P12. This is especially useful in glass-reinforced nylon, as it can prevent processing problems and achieve excellent surface gloss of the product.
