Nucleating agents for thermoplastic plastics
Product description: BRUGGOLEN P252 is an optimized mixture of organic and inorganic nucleating agents.
Properties and applications: BRUGGOLEN P252 is a nucleating agent (crystallization accelerator) suitable for all partially crystalline thermoplastic plastics, especially polyesters (PET, PBT), as well as nylon (PA6, PA66, PA11, PA12, copolymer PA) and polyolefins (PP, HDPE).
When BRUGGOLEN P252 is added to the polymer melt, the amorphous powder can easily be separated into very fine particles, which then play a very effective nucleating role, forming a fine crystal structure.
It has the following advantages during injection molding processing:
* Shorten the molding cycle and increase productivity.
* Improve demolding.
* Improve the dimensional stability of the product.
* Reduce post-molding shrinkage.
* Prevent stress cracking of the product.
* Improve mechanical properties (increase tensile strength and hardness)
* Improve surface gloss.
These improved properties exist not only in un-reinforced materials but are also effective in reinforced materials, especially suitable for glass fiber reinforced materials. The reason for these effects is that it can form a more fine and uniform crystal structure in the nylon matrix compared to glass fibers.
Dosage amount: The optimal dosage of BRUGGOLEN P252 is approximately 0.2-0.5%, and the specific dosage depends on the type of polymer and the desired properties of the final product.
Processing method: The best way to add is by using a twin-screw extruder for blending.
It is also possible to mix the additive with polymer particles evenly through a dry-mixing method. During dry-mixing, a bonding oil such as 0.2% BRUGGOLEN P60 should be used.
