General principles for tower type selection. Reasonably selecting the tower type of the exhaust gas absorption tower is the primary step in the design of tower equipment. The main factors to be considered during selection are: material properties, operating conditions, performance of the tower equipment, as well as the manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance of the tower equipment.
Factors related to physical properties: a. For systems prone to foaming, if the processing capacity is not large, it is advisable to choose a packed tower. Because the packing can break the foam, while the plate tower is prone to cause flooding. b. For corrosive media, a packed tower can be selected. If a plate tower must be used, it is advisable to choose a sieve tray, a cross - flow tray, or a slotted tray with a simple structure and low cost for easy replacement. c. For heat - sensitive materials, vacuum operation is required to prevent decomposition or polymerization due to overheating. Therefore, a tower type with a relatively small pressure drop should be selected, such as a tower filled with structured packing or a wetted - wall tower. When a relatively low vacuum degree is required, a sieve tray tower or a float valve tower is advisable. d. For systems with high viscosity, a packed tower with large - size packing can be selected, as the mass - transfer efficiency of the plate tower is too poor. e. For materials containing suspended solids, a tower type with a larger liquid flow channel should be selected, and a plate tower is advisable. A bubble cap tower, a float valve tower, a grid tower, a slotted tower, or a sieve tray tower with a larger aperture can be selected, and small packing should not be used. f. For systems with a thermal effect during operation, a plate tower is advisable. There is a liquid layer on the trays of the plate tower, in which heat - exchange tubes can be installed for effective heating or cooling.
The fiberglass workshop exhaust gas absorption and purification tower mainly treats harmful gases such as hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas, hydrogen fluoride (HF) gas, acid mist (H2SO4), chromic acid mist (CrO3), hydrogen cyanide (HCN) gas, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), ammonia (NH3), and alkaline vapor, etc. The purification efficiency is over 95% - 98%.
