① Application in rubber
When used in rubber, it can increase the volume of rubber, improve the processability of rubber, play a semi-reinforcing or reinforcing role, and adjust the hardness of rubber.
② Application in plastics
The plastics industry is the consumption field of calcium silicate*. The refined ground calcium carbonate powder can enhance the bonding strength and mechanical properties of the interface of plastic composite materials. Using fine calcium silicate powder in plastics can not only reduce its manufacturing cost, but also improve and modify its performance.
③ Application in papermaking
Calcium silicate used in the papermaking industry mainly has two uses, one is as a filler and the other is as a coating. At present, most paper mills in China use the acid papermaking process, and the fillers used are mainly kaolin and talc powder. Calcium silicate will replace acid sizing, and ground calcium carbonate powder will replace talc powder or kaolin in a large range as a filler.
④ Application in paints and coatings
Paints and coatings are also one of the main consumption fields of calcium silicate. Generally, it is used as a filler and extender pigment, and the main application variety is architectural coatings. In industrial developed countries such as Europe and the United States, adhesives are also one of the main consumption fields of calcium silicate. However, the requirements for calcium silicate in adhesive powders are relatively high, generally requiring a fineness > 1250 mesh. In addition, calcium silicate with fine particle size, high purity and good whiteness is also used in fields such as inks, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
It is also widely used as a filler in daily chemical industries such as artificial floor tiles, rubber, plastics, papermaking, coatings, paints, inks, cables, building supplies, food, medicine, textiles, feeds, toothpaste, etc.

As a calcium fortifier: For general foods and foods in capsule or tablet form and marked with a daily consumption limit, the total calcium content in the daily consumption or per 300g of food (if the daily consumption is not marked) shall not be higher than 1800mg. It is limited to use when supplementing the insufficient nutrients in foods.
